My photo workflow looks something like this:
From the day I bought Nikon D80, my first DSLR, and since nowadays when I`m enjoying my great, great Nikon D7000, I always used Nikon Capture NX to open, edit and save my photos, from NEF (RAW) format to TIF format.
I consider Capture NX to be the best choice for Nikon photographers, because it knows best how to interpret and export further your images. No other photo software can do that for us, the Nikonians, not even Adobe Lightroom 3.
So, I was delighted when I read here http://nikonrumors.com/2011/05/01/capture-nx3-to-include-nik-plugins.aspx/ some rumors that the future Nikon Capture NX3 will include Nik plugins. It is a very good news, considering the fact that I almost always use Nik Color Efex Pro to retouch or add a special something to my photos.
According to http://nikonrumors.com
Nikon Capture NX3 software will be completely rewritten from scratch and will include all Nik plugins except for Color Efex, which will be available as an option. I was never able to verify this rumor. A recent post on the [NR] forum reminded me to post this online (still unverified).
Capture NX2 program is written by Nik software. Back in 2006, Nikon made a “capital investment” in Nik Software. Almost all Nik plugins were recently updated to a 64 bit version. Nik recently announced also a new HDR Efex Pro software. Adding Nik plugins to the future Capture NX3 makes sense, especially if they release a 64 bit version of the software.
Capture NX is so great, I look forward to here some other news, realistic news, about Capture NX 3.
