Because i did not had my own laboratory, my evolution as a photographer was very slow in the following years.

Things got better during college, when i had the opportunity to work with several cameras and lenses, so to experience more.

After my post-academic studies i transformed aother hobby into occupation, my passion for computerized graphics and design. So, since march 2003 i work as a graphic designer for the “Lexus Publicitate” advertising agency, and lately as advertising photographer.

Here i had the opportunity to use for the first time a digital camera. I think i chosed this occupation (despite those 6 years spent on college) because of my passion for photography and for playing with the light, the image, for manipulating, transforming and using the image to express concepts and ideas.

I chosed photography as a way to express myself and not some other form of art, because this passion came from itself from the moment i discovered the photo camera. I`m also a biologist and i travel a lot just to see places and landscapes, so i had the opportunity to capture on film the beautiful and extraordinary pieces of nature.

Subsequently, i began to discover the other aspects of photography, more artistic and abstracts, inspired by the large number of photographers that present their work on the internet. I used very much this source to learn more about the photographic techniques, about the artistic visions and about the photographc currents of the time.

That was due also to the fact that i learned photography by myself, without the help from other photographers, until i came back to Arad, where i started to attend the exhibitions of the Foto Club Arad photographers.

In march 2005 i had my first active participation in a photographic exhibition, with my new collegues from Foto Club Arad. It was called “Group 5″. My photos received very good ratings and that encouraged me to participate in more national and international contests and exhibitions.

The most representative was the national contest “Fotogeographica 2005“, where i took 3rd place, in the artistic section, with the photo “As long time ago …“.

At first, i was interested only in travel and nature photography, with a special preference for macro- and landscape photography. These are my favourites. Later, i took interest in other types of photography, as urban and architectural photography, abstract, still life, experimental and advertising photography, computer graphics and, as a favourite, portraits.

As technique i don`t have any preferences. I take only colour photos, after that, when post-processing take place, i decide which photo i use in colour and wich one in black-and-white, sepia or any other special effect. That depends on the situation and the ideas that i want to express by that particular photo.

Also, sometimes i use intensively digital manipulation of a photo, but some other times i modify very little the essence of an image. I have a good oppinion about digital manipulations of photos, IF there are some limits and the purpose is artistic only.

As special achievements, i would like to mention my first personal exhibition, which was called “First Love” (or simply “… Nature”). The oppening took place in 21 june 2006 and it can still be visited online.

I am very proud by this achievement, because it gave me more confidence in myself as a photographer. It means very much for an amateur to receive positive feed-back from other people. Prints from that exhibitions can be ordered by e-mail, by sending the title and the number of desired photos.

After that exhibition, my first concern was to buy a new, more powerful camera, more versatile and which could offer me new, improved possibilities of taking photograps. In the autumn of 2006 i bought a Nikon D80, which allowed me to experience new types of photography, inaccessible to me before that, like artistic portraits and fashion photography.

These days, i consider myself a good photographer ( :D ) and i think i have a certain maturity in this occupation.

Last year i traveled very much, i took many many pictures, that now require my full attention. This is my main goal right now, to process all those photos and to post them in my gallery as long as the processing is done.

At the same time, i have several projects on the run, like colaborations with magazines and photo websites, exhibitions and contests and various multimedia projects.
